I was just thinking about doing an article about sharpening and modifications for the site but I gotta think about it.Anyway my plane blades have a slight radius to them.I do it on a bench grinder, sharpening is an intense subject even in the woodworking world. How sharp is sharp??For hand planes you should be able to shave hairs off your arm.For high speed planers you just need a good clean “wire” edge…R.B.

I just don’t think that I am a savvy enough writer to pull it off.It would have to include diagrams etc. which is beyond me.Tell you what…there is a Magazine called “Fine Woodworking” that took all of their best sharpening articles and put em into one single booklet. When I get to the shop tomorrow I’ll post the specifics…meanwhile you can probably search it on the web maybe www.finewoodworking.com?Its published by Taunton Press and they have a lot of books about woodworking…R. Brucker

Don’t worry about the details of the writing. Just give us some of your sharpening tips. That would be one of the greatest things to share w/ all of us. I think a lot of craftsman have many differant processes. Personally I like the Japanese waterstones. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I’ll check it out.
