Do you know if anyone out there has used the name farmhouse creations? I cameup with the idea cause all our work is done inside a rickity old shed with a double door, hence farmhouse…

Hi Bilge,

A quick look at the US Patent and Trademark Office website/search didn’t turn up anything ( http://www.uspto.gov/index.html -have a look) . Now, under common law, the first to use it has certain rights, but the only one using it ( http://www.farmhousecreationsonline.com/index.html ) available to a quick search is using it for wholesale body and bath stuff- say small vats of cocoa butter, not surfboards. There is no http://www.farmhousecreations.com/ that I can find.

So I’d say go for it.

Hope that’s of use

doc…

I’d say go for it,

over here for a ltd company you can have the same name as another company as long as you dont come into the some classification, ie seelling or producing the same goods, even if you do then you only have to put a diffent location in bracets ie farm hous creations (Bristol) Ltd. even then you don’t have to put the part in bracets on a logo.

So I’d say go for it, unless your producing thousands of boards I doubt any one else would mind.
