Not sure the question is clear - Are you asking about what type of bottom contours people suggest for a quad? If so, how big/long, etc.?
Yes TaylorO,my question is, what type of bottom contours suggest for a quad fins surfboard?.
measures high::6’, 4’'.
width:21 21/32 (55 cm)
thikness: 2 3/4 (7cm)
thanks TaylorO for you help.
hi Zeti, nice to meet you too. is this a board you are shaping?
do you have any pictures? seeing the board might help you get more information.
flat works really well. you might want to consider it.
hi,thanks again!
waves of the Mediterranean for over 1 meter or less, not too vertical wall.
in the photo needs to work the wings and rails.
pardon for my English is not fluent, Greetings at all.!
hello, somebody could help me, Greetings
have you checked out this website
http://www.mckeesurf.com/brucemckee/quattro.htm
lotsa info on quads
I don't know much about quad fish surfboards, but I'm pretty sure they'll work with a flat bottom. Why do you have to add concaves?
here's a webpage with more ideas
Hi Zeti, Board looks pretty good , is it your first one? I also think Flat bottom is the way , just to keep it simple, I normally do a very slight single concave and then flat through the tail for my performance quad setup but for a fish with a wide tail you could add a small amount of vee out of the tail. I think a wider spaced quad setup would suit that board i.e with all four fins closer to the rail to make it looser or more like a twin.
Anyway just some suggestions, there are plenty of threads with good Quad setups on here but I think the search engine is not working too good so search through Google it seems to work…
My conclusion:The bottom stay flat.
Greetings and good waves!.
More pics - as the board progresses!
Hey Zeti - Nice looking board. I prefer the “Hand shaper,” and others who think the same way, quad set up with the fins close to the rail and the fore/aft separation @ 1-1.25". A little double concave though the fins may help keep the water flowing over the fins, but if this is an early board for you, you may want to try it on the next one.
the botom rails remained flat and rather low, I am a beginner and do not want too many complications.
thanks for all the information I have been helpful to continue to learn folks!
thanks TaylorO,note the configuration delas keels, greetings!
good waves,bro.
