Tsunami warning!

Apparently an earthquake has rattled Japan and emergency services just put out a tsunami warning for Alaska. Washington, Oregon and California are not expected to be impacted. http://wcatwc.gov/message.txt

Warning cancelled here in Hawaii

Howzit Jason, And aren’t we glad they did cancel it, I live across the street from backdoor tunnels channel and I was packing it up when they canceled. We are so over due for a Tsunami it isn’t even funny, but at least I can sleep in my own bed tonight.Aloha from Kauai, Kokua

Howzit Kokua! I know how you feel! I Live on the North shore right next to Laniakea about 100 yards from the beach. Had they not cancelled it I would of had to make a mad dash to my sons school to get him out and get us packed up and outa here (plan B is just to get to high ground…maybe the hills behind my house). We are WAY overdue for a Tsunami and right at the point where we are due for another hurricane.

Howzit Jason, Can you imagine what a direct hit by a class 5 hurricane would do to Oahu, wouldn’t be a pretty site. Aloha, Kokua

I lived through Iwa and Iniki though i dont remember what categorys those were. Hurricane Iwa was pretty bad, got outa school early and drove to almoana and the north shore to see the waves…ala moana bowls was outa control and the giant rocks that made up the jetty there were in the parking lot. Ala mo Parkside had one foot waves breaking on the street. The pathway that leads out to pipeline ended with about a 15-20foot drop straight down into rocks where the beach was…whitewater as far as I could see to the horizon…three tables sharks cove was AMAZING! looking up from the road at GIANT closeouts.

Howzit Jason, Iniki was a class 5+, we had wind speed readings as high as 200+ mph and it moved at a speed of 25mph. Iwa was a class 3 with gusts over 125mph but it moved at 12 mph so even though the wind speed was lower it took twice as long to pass over us.Aloha, Kokua
