Any of you Guys figured out a way to avoid this?I have been fighting it for 35+ years.
Roger, if you watch me in the video, I am CONSTANTLY keeping an eye on my cords, if they start to get loops in them, I do my ballerina spin and flip out any loops, I hate tangled cords! I watch Hank Byzak replace a couple of cords a year, they look like umbilical cords, he lets the twist until they won’t get right again and become useless, Shrosbee’s are the same way, prevention.
Ha…I was wondering what those spins were.We just figured you were getting senile and loosing control of some body functions.I am getting lazy so I was hoping some of the younger technotype dudes had come up with something new.I figure it’s worth a try. RB
Hey CL -
Check out this website - replacement cords that swivel and propose less tangles: http://www.power-delivery.com
Holy Batdung! Those things look amazing!Has anyone ever actually tried one?You could go double duty and use the wall connector and one on the cord.I nominate HerB as man of the year. RB
I’ve never used but I’d like to see Doc chime in. If it’s power tool related, he’s probably at least taken it for a test drive.
A while back you and I were discussing Bosch cordless planers. Did you ever have a chance to try one? Or, did write it off due to the obvious shortcomings that a battery powered tool had for production work? I ask since I recently ordered one that I’m waiting for.
Best,
Herb B.
Actually, Keith and I were discussing this not long ago. And on another tangent, the ‘extension cord’ thread a while back, came up with some answers. Search the Archives, as frankly I’m feeling a little lazy just now after a long day humoing wet beams up short ladders.
Rather than dealing with those damn electric snakes all around you, tripping over 'em and so forth, plus the vaccum hose to the planer adding to the chances of a Gordian Knot being invented - get a curled cord ( like a phone cord), I think Carroll makes them, and put the vac hose down the middle and you have it all run from up above your work, never dragging through stuff or wrapping around your feet, etc.
hope that’s of use
doc…
I emailed the folks that make the swivel connectors and they replied.THe price is going to be $19.00 for a male and female connector. They are currently upgrading them for UL approval and it may be a couple of months.I ronically the guy who is doing it is named Kim Purlington and he lives on Oahu,Hawaii.Maybe some of you Hawaii guys can get with him for a test drive. If interested go to the link that HerB put up earlier.I am stoked about this deal.
