UPOL and Urethane Clearcoats

I’ve been using a urethane clearcoat to seal the last coupla boards I’ve done. Same problem in varying degrees on every one. I have been having a problem with fisheye. I sand the hot coats to 400 wet with a drop of dish soap to get clean. I clean with acryliclean and wipe down before I spray. I use an oiless compressor with a filter at the gun. Thought it was contamination in my system but a recent repair I sprayed with clear Krylon had some fisheye also! Now I’m thinking it is wax from the SA that is causing this. Anyone have a good way to clean ALL the wax off and out of the pin holes before applying the spray? I used to do auto painting so the wetsand/soap/acryliclean has always worked well…not so on fiberglass!

this is gonna shock you but i do my first coat of upol after being sanded with 80 grit ,it fills the scratches and weave ,then i sand that back with 320 and final coat…

after ive sanded all i do is blow it down and first coat it , i never use any surface cleaning fluids cos it gets into the weave and pins like what happened to you…

sanding is your only hope and it still wont get it out of the pins…

you might have to do some artwork to hide it…
