I have a board that I put paint on right after I sanded the hot coat. I want to seal it and put a resin gloss on it. Ive had some issues with floor sealers… gave me the fisheye when I put on the Reichold gloss.
Im hearing a lot about this UPOL clear #1 clear coat being superior. I know it sounds overkill to put the UPOL on and THEN the Reichold gloss, but I have surluster to polish out with, does that work good with a UPOL clear coat? I want a nice shine on this one.
Others may have had a different experience but I have found that upol in the can totally sucks. It stinks to high heaveans, does not sand well and left a weird haze under my gloss coat.
Maybe it was just my approach but i have since abandoned the whole clear coat over paint and then gloss.
Using a paint that doesnt react to resin seems to be a much cleaner option.
So WideAWAKE what are you thinking? Do you know of any paints that don’t react? I mean Ive heard of some water based acrylics but an actual brand that sells them I have no idea…
You have to wait a day before you sand UPOL. It feels dry, but it isn’t cured, so it won’t sand smooth
