UV RESIN LIGHT BOX DESIGN

ALOHA ,IS THERE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO BUILD OR DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS FOR A UV BOX TO SET OFF THE RESIN ? DO REGULAR FLUORESCENT OR HIGH POWER FLUORESCENT BULBS SET OFF UV RESIN ? THEY SEEMED TO HAVE SOME EFFECT IN MY SHOP ,BUT NOT A 100%.I’M TIRED OF STANDING IN THE SUN.MAHALO.

Howzit SANDERMAN, Regular Flourecent bulbs have a slight effect on UV resin but very little, you really should get UV bulbs. I pay $18. per bulb from Fiberglass Hi. and use them in Fixtures I buy at Wal-Mart for about $10. I don't use a box, I just have racks under the light system and as long as I warm up the lights, the board kicks off in about 10 minutes. Aloha, Kokua

Greetings Kokua,

How does the UV coming off those lights affect the rest of your work space ? If you’re working with UV resin on another board while the one under the lights is going off what is the effect on the board you’re working on ?

Howzit cornelius47, UV light system is in a different room than Laminating area. Aloha,Kokua

I don’t have the url right now, but That Fish Place sells an actinic T-8 bulb it’s only $10.49 for a four footer. The same thing as the Phillips TL-03 but way cheaper, and it works. The company that makes the bulb is called ZooMed, check it out.
