vee bottom, single concave, double concave question

hey,

i know this may be hard to describe with out physical demonstration, but can someone help me out? I need basically definitions of vee bottom, single and double concave, with each of its characteristics, and maybe some photos? im fairly new to surfboard design, but if you can inform me on these things it would be rad.

thanks,

tim

Logger…welcome.

First things first…the search function…it will take you far. I actually, with no other prior knowledge, I shaped my first surfboard without having asked any questions…just searching keywords/ideas and research on this sight and others.

good luck.

O’k a vee bottom has a vee in the botom usually starting before the fin . a concave has a concave running from near the nose to about the back fin . double concave well is ia double concave as in concave x2 any variations and mixes of these work as do flat bottoms that means they are flat. now the nose is the front and the tail is the other end . the fins go underneath. wax goes on top as that is where we stand. If anymore info is needed do a search. thank you for expanding my typing skills.

Otherwise… understand the basics of convex (displacement) and concave as design elements, and all bottom contours are variations and/or combinations of the two.
