When shaping the bottom contours, I’ve always done the vee first, then put in the concave(s). However, it seems that many folks put in the concave first, then the vee. I wish this forum supported polls; I think it would be interesting to see a cross section of opinions.
Neither. I get the stringer rocker correct, and then shape the rail rocker to create the contour. Leave the rail rocker high for concave, or lower the rail rocker for hull or vee. Perspective assumes higher and lower is when the board is oriented deck down and still in the shaping rack
vee then concave.
or is there something i dont know ?
Done it both ways-no preference.
Vee first then concave. A lot of shapers dont even know how to shape a vee. It starts with a railband but thats another story all together.
