The other day I rigged up my little point and shoot digital camera to a shelf, and turned it on just before I started pouring epoxy on glass. It ran for about 15 minutes before running out of memory. This was just enough time to get all the important steps on film. I was using Kwick Kick, so I had to boogie. Watching the video afterwards was really informative. I was able to pick up on a lot of things that I was doing wrong, and I now have a plan for doing a better job next time.
I would never publicly post this video, because: 1) it is really boring, and 2) it would be too humiliating. I'll post pictures of the finished product when it's all done.
I am all set to film myself the next time I shape. Does anyone else do this? Athletes watch films of themselves all the time. What about all you backyard shapers?
Hi Scott - I have filmed myself and put it on you-tube several times, in response to a query about how I do something. And I have seen time-lapse footage of people shaping, building hws, and glassing. Its pretty cool to watch. Efficiency experts do just what you're describing. But I've never tried it, myself. Some surfers film their surfing for their coaches and trainers to study, like you say. In my case that would be painful to watch LOL! Here's a link to Rich from T2S's time-lapse video
