So i just got a 70’s Waterbrothers single fin that is missing the fin. The box looks to be an old Bahne or Fins Unlimited, it has a plate already in it with threads attached to it. There is no way that the plate will come out, nor can I install a modern plate in there. So my question is where can I find the rest of the hardware to mount a new fin in it? The other this i was thinking was too use a dremel tool and notch out the areas near the t like a modern fin box. Any Suggestions? Thanks guys!!!
i forget who makes them but you can get plate that are half the length of a normal plate, that should work, it has for me

The screw size, and thread of the old box plate, is the same size as the new. Old screw was an allen head. New screw is slot head. It's slightly longer than the old screw, due to change in the fin tab dimensions. I think the screw size is 10/32, if my memory is functioning properly. Step away from the Dremel, until you know you can get a new, or used glass fin to fit.
There are some plates made that look like a large capital I, but with a small chisel you can slightly round the bottom edges of the vertical slot and work the plate out of the box, it won’t hurt the general workings, I had to do this numerous times in the past
Hey thanks for the advice jim, just went out and did what you recommended and with a little man power got it out, that was a lot easier than trying to hunt down for a new bolt!
as long as the plate in the box isn't rusted to chet............just locate a proper bolt(oh man,i'm goin' to get sued for using bolt in my post).
..........if it ain't broke..........don't fix it.
