Vintage Board appraisal.

I recently picked up a 9’8" D-Fin pig shaped log circa 196?. All the searching I’ve done doesn’t really give me a good idea of its value. It was shaped by Richard Deese out of the South Bay Surf Shop (in Hermosa??). It has a serial # which were used to match customer invoices. Really great shape, nice tail block, all blue.

Anybody have more info about the worth of this board? I know Richard Deese was “famous” for the Tunnel Fin. I couldn’t find much more about him.

Help appreciated! Thanks,

nr

That Blue paint doe not look original to the Board. Looks like it was done to cover up a lot of ugly stuff. dings foam rot and yellowing.
When I see a vintage board with opaque color that does not look all that old and a very poor tape off at that. My first thought is what are they hiding? I would say that this board isn’t worth much.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it’ll be fun to surf, I’ll get my worth out of it that way.

Thanks,
