I am having a reproduction fin glassed onto a vintage Con Ugly. Does anyone know the dimension from the rear base of the fin to the tail? Anyone with a vintage ugly and a tape measure? It doesn’t have to be exact, I just want the board to be as close to original as possible. The board is only a rider and nothing too fancy.

Thanks for the help.
Wagoon, The safest thing to do with a single fin Glass-on for the Con, is to put the tip of the trailing edge of the fin even with the back of the tail on the board. Or if you want inches 3 1/2" from the back of the base of the fin to the back of the board, but this may vary depending on the rake of the fin you choose to use. Mahalo,Larry
Larry. You should know the fin I’m using…since you made it. I ordered it through Scott at Foam Fins and Fiberglass. I am having Austin at Austin Surfboards fix a delam under the logo and glass on the fin. Trying to get it in the original spot, but the tail looks like it was worked on a few times and its hard to tell where it should go. Lining up the trailing edge with the tail sounds about right unless someone else has a measurement.
dfish - I’ve been on Con’s site and I didn’t see any fin photos or vintage ugly photos. The modern ugly’s have fin boxes on the site.
Hi Pat, You should have just emailed me and I would be happy to help you out. The fin I made for Scott for you line it up even with the tail of the board, forget measurement from base. Mahalo, larry
