Virgin Surf?

Hey Guys, I might be moving to St. Thomas (Virgin Islands) and I was wondering if there were any spots there or close by that got some decent surf. I would appreceiate any info possible. Thanks Andy

I just got back from St. John’s, I asked and was told that St. John’s only gets surf during big storms. St. Thomas gets surf once in a while, I was told it gets good. Also, they told me Tortola is where the surf is, a place called Cane Alley. I didn’t see any rideable waves during my stay but the snokeling was great. Frank>>> Hey Guys, I might be moving to St. Thomas (Virgin Islands) and I was …Andy, take up fishing,or diving, this will help on those surfless days.Herb

Andy, get a copy of Surfer Mags “Travel Report” for the virgin islands. There looks to be several good spots. If you had access to a boat I have a feeling… I friend who went over and did some work after the place got worked by a 'cane says it gets GOOOOOOOD. Good luck.

just like puerto rico, you’re out of the shadows of the bahamas, the turks, and the caicos, your north/northwest facing coasts (which st. thomas has) will pick up winter swells. gotta be great exploration territory for someone with a boat, and of course, the time. http://www.activecabarete.com/info/maps-central_america.html

Hull Bay is about it for St Thomas and its notoriously small and inconsistenet, BVI is where its at, but a hassle to have to clear customs and immigration 4 times for each surf (i.e. departing USVI, arriving BVI, surf, departing BVI, arriving USVI) P.S. oh yeah, you also need your own boat.
