volan glass

What happend to Doc? He hasn't been around in a while. Lots of good info from him.

Yea…Doc is awesome. Bagman was one of the best technical guys to ever come around here. I hope they are still kicking.

cleanlines,

not sure where I heard this but I believe that volan's bond to PE resin is better than that of silane giving them a better life span(they retain their 'springiness/pop' longer). I believe that the flexability would have to do more with the weave. I have done some fins with both 6oz silane and 7.5 ounce volan. the 7.5 volan has a significantly larger/looser weave than the 6 silane which I think is why the volan turned out to be flexier so in that case I don't believe the flexiblity came from the finish of the glass but rather the weave size. I could be COMPLETELY off on this so someone let me know if I am. thanks

So I guess my question is …if I build a fin panel out of Volan and Dion Isothatlic resin will it be significantly better ( as far as flex goes) than a fin made from silene glass and Silmar resin??

Don't know. I was just talking about Silmar, because that it all I use
