Volan glass

When most people get a volan glass job, how many layers and what weight Volan do they usually use for top and bottom? I want to get a heavier, old school feeling in a longboard.

2 layers on top, one on the bottom. an extra patch for you knees on the deck, and a small patch on the tail too. it depends how heavy you want it. all 8oz (technically 7.5oz) is good. or, if you want a really heavy board. try 10 on bottom and 10+6 on top with classic foam.>>> When most people get a volan glass job, how many layers and what weight > Volan do they usually use for top and bottom? Glass adds some weight. You can add more weight with more wood and more glue (offset stringers will add more glue than a t-band sandwiched together). Also foam weight comes into play. I have a 10’ board made from a classic blank. It has four WRCedar stringers, a tail block, 2 layers of 6oz E on the deck (and a deck patch too) and 1 layer of 6oz E on the bottom - the board weighs 30 lbs.
