Wakesurf board design. Help for a beginner please.

Hi. I’m starting out building my first board and am looking for advice and inspiration! The board I want to make is specifically for wakesurfing on small waves, so boyancy isn’t so much of an issue. The board dimensions are on the attachment ot this post, and loosely based on inland surfer red woody. I’m a big guy 6’2" 240lbs and my current board is too small to drop the rope for more than a couple of minutes. To make it more difficult (!) materials are near impossible to get hold of so I’m planning a hollow wood design made from ply. (8mm stringer and ribs 4mm top and bottom sheet, glass the rails only.)

Any comments and ideas much appreciated. Is the rocker OK?

I don't know enough about wakesurfing, because I've never tried it, but that seems like an awfully small board for a big guy.

I have built a few wood boards using plywood, that part should work out fine.  I used 5.2mm balsa plywood from Home Depot.  I glassed mine, but resin alone is probably adequate, I assume there's less risk of dings in wakesurfing than beach surfing.

Kinda hard to bend the plywood on the deck, but with so little rocker, you should be OK.
