Saw it on Foam EZ site – It’s a new blank, designed for retro style fishes. Anyone here experience shaping this blank? I’m thinking about two projects here – 1. a bigger Lis style fish, 6’2" or so (I’ve already made my wood keels) and also 2. a 6’6" single fin (box) egg template and outline of my own creation but somewhat (very) loosely inspired by Frye Egg, Cooperfish Comet, Bing Good Karma, CI single fin type of boards. Fast, fun, carvey.
For the fish, I’d start my template on the blank starting toward the tail back, or centered to achieve a relatively flatter rocker, and for the single fin, I’d avail myself of the rocker built into the nose of this blank, using most of the of the blank anyway, at 6’6”
Both boards at about 22" wide, and pretty thick – the fish thicker, and the single fin more foiled.
Both boards need to float 195lb surfer. Mostly for point surf – 2 foot to head high.
Am I on the right track? Tips, Thoughts, experience, advice?
