WARNING FOR CULPRIT BRAND FINS !!!

WARNING: THIS BRAND PRODUCES FINS THAT SEEM TO BE THE SAME OLD CHINA MADE FINS BUT ONCE YOU RIDE THEM THEY SNAP AT THE BASE. I WAS FOOLED ALONG WITH MY FRIENDS BY THEIR PRICE AND SEEMINGLY DECENT DESIGNS BUT NOW THE FIVE OF US HAVE ALL FOUND OUT WHY THEY ARE NAMED “CULPRIT” THEY TRULY ARE!!!

Has anyone else had this experience? I recently bought my set of fins from ebay but I think my buddies came from some other online surf shop. The second time out with their C9 Pro Model (Ha Ha) at county line the board totally slipped out on a bottom turn. I flipped the board over and not only one but two fins were broken. Im not sure if it happened at the same time or on a series of waves but they apprently can handel 5 foot surf. I talked to my friends (one of which works at Becker) and he says he sees this all the time with this brand. Im sick of China!!! Is there any brand left that isnt made there?

Anyone else get ripped off like this???

Try making your own.

I had a set of Dolfin fins that broke way too easy.  It was obvious when looking at the break that the plastic they used was a little too brittle.  But then again, I’d rather have the fins break too easy than have them damage the box or board.  Just part of the game.  Buy another set of fins from another maker and move on if you’re not satisfied.  Been using Shapers fins and have been very happy with them for an inexpensive fin.

Interesting first and second posts though.  Could be some sort of reverse spam for all we know.  For all we know you work for a competitor.  Thanks for all your contributions here though.

He shreds so hard he breaks his fins.

Thank you for the heads up.  I just hit their site.  Looks interesting.  Especially their fin boxes.  You sure you don’t work for a fin box manufacturer???  I may have to order a set to check them out.
