WARPLITE Fiberglass cloth

ANyone used or have any experience with this cloth?

Did a little research;  I’m thinking this cloth may be manufactured by JPS or a mill somehow associated with JPS.  JPS is located in the Southern US.  This may explain why you only see “Warplite” on the East Coast.  Not really sure.  Just a deduction.  Lowel

…I used it several years ago. Used only in 4oz and 5oz weight if I remember right. It s not premium but pretty good.

I did not have any complains about it.

The only cloth that I did not like it too much was the Hexcel warp glass, at least in the 90s when that factory was owned by other corporation.

Hexcel Warp glass was very stiff and hard to glass Reverb?

I use JPS 4oz Warp glass, pretty good.

…hello Marsh; stiff, yes but not hard to glass. Also, I did not like it over deep dark colors; but in the 90s most boards were clear.

I remember using normal bias and warp glass on the decks.

Never used JPS warp. Is part of the great white finish?

Keep in mind; as was pointed out to me in another thread on this subject;  Warplite is a brand of cloth of the “Warp” variety or type.  (more threads running lengthwise).  They all make a Warp.

i have some of that stuff laying around. Ive made 3 boards with it now. Its pretty good stuff in my opinion. not so hard to source, not very expensive, a great middle of the road product in my mind.

i like it - a really stiff cloth

After talking to a rep from JPS;  I was told that JPS does not make the “Warplite” brand of cloth.  And the closest thing to Warp style fabric they make is an S/E Hybrid combo. Lowel

Hi Reverb the cloth I have came from Surfblanks Australia, it’s JPS Great White warp glass, 4oz, style- 1521, Sufblanks also have a 6oz warp glass.

I use it on short boards with 4oz glass jobs in the hope that they break less easily, but I have no way of proving this ha!.  I’ve been using 4oz warp bottom + 4oz E underlay or patch deck then 4oz warp deck.

The cost is very similar to JPS E glass, hopefully more benifits!!
