I just wanna ask a question I made this fish it’s 5’5 20’ wide I shaped the bottom contour and the tail on the bottom is kind of off. One side looks a little higher then the other side . Will it affect me putting my fcs fushion fin boxes in will 1 side of the fins look higher the the other side? Its a eps blank. Will it affect the way it rides? How can I fix it ? Thanks everyone for all your help.
Dont be too hard on yourself. Grab a board off the racks at the local surfshop and check it over, possibly twisted, fin cants all over the place, more than likely 1/8 - 1/4" out on one side, etc.
Just sand it and ride it. If it floats you can surf it.
If you really want to fix it take your sander and a piece of #36 grit paper and reshape, then reglass. But this could be the magic board.
You got a winner on your hands, every “magic” board has some flaw, plus you don’t surf the same way front side as backside.
You shoud see some of the designs that Carl Eckstrom builds, fully assymetrical, outline, rockers from side to side, Vee’s, concaves, rails, fin shapes, placements, rakes and sizes. He is a true genius mind, with the skills to put it into action
