I bought a fin from ebay, this guy has all kinds of fins for sale under the name “Viking Surfboards Fins”. This fin was crap! looked nice in the picture, but not much better than the fin you get when you buy a finbox from Foam EZ. It didnt fit in any of my surfboards, the pin in the front of the fin was cheap plastic, the label was sticking out of the gloss coat…i could go on and on. dont buy this guys crap! what a rip off!!

i wrote an email to he guy and it seems he can hardly speak english- Hi , this is the first time we hear that the fins don’t fit in a these boxes, nevertheless, if you return the fin to us we will reimburse you for all the value you paid. We can also send you a new fin in replacement and see if it fits , we will also look into the label matter and be sure you receive one that is smooth. Please inform what solution you prefer in order to enable us to take quick action, Best regards, Christian.
now if i send the fin back the guy can rip me off and i wont be able to do anything about it. what should I do?
Thats funny because hes talking about himself in 3rd person I checked out all his stuff and its written about him, by him. Id say send it back ebay has great resources against getting ripped off, The fiberglass fins do look pretty decent on screen, but that fin system looks like a cheap toy. whats was the problem with the fit? too thick at the base? i just got one, looks like a nice fin to me…
if the guy is willing to give you a refund send it back. Did you have any problems getting the fin? If you think it is junk say so but to call him a ripoff when he shipped the fin and is willing to refund your money isn’t right.

The guy has a web address http://www.vikingsurfboards.com/ . German name, makes sense. The way he writes english would indicate German is his native language, using we and us for his company. You can learn alot about someones native language by the way they speak or write english. German have a very weird sentence structure. You get what you pay for…buyer beware…sounds like the guy is trying to make it right…
these guys are right- i mean, really, be realistic. do you expect the quality of a $50 rainbow fin for $15 ? sounds to me like this guys is selling cheap fins for a cheap price, right ? i would call that fair. so the fin is not what you wanted, and he’s going to refund your money. he does not even have to do that ! ebay is buy at your own risk. besides, how much time have you spent worrying about a cheap $15 fin ? money can’t be that tight now can it ? (how much did you spend on the board you are putting the $15 fin into ?) live and learn. (and don’t call it a rip off when you haven’t been ripped off)
the fin is to wide and to tall in the base. if i jammed that thing in the finbox, something would break. The guy is from brazil, his email has some reference to brazil in it. the board i got the fin for cost me $560+ tax, for the guy who asked. its a single fin shortboard.
