Wayne Rich Pro/Mod Contender

Been away from here for some time, but once again got a question about how a board handles.   Been looking at the Wayne Rich 9'6" pro/mod contender-18x22 1/2x13 5/8.   Any comments on how it rides or handles?  Plan to use it in SoCal, mainly Ventura County.

FYI, currently riding a 9"6" Becker Mike Gee, am collecting Social Security and weigh 150 lbs.   Oh yeah, bad rotator cuffs and problems at L4-L5, but as long as I wake up I am a happy man.

Tino,

I’ve ridden the epoxy version of that board and I can say without a doubt that it is the most fun longboard I’ve ever ridden. Wayno’s got the perfect combo of numbers on that board. Real easy to paddle and will handle anything from waist high slop to overhead reefs. I know, I’ve been there and so has my wife. The Mike Gee model is good but IMHO the Rich is muuuuuuuuccchhhhh better.

BTW- my wife owned that board for about a year and a half before selling it and downsizing to an 8’.

Wayne Rich is the real deal!

He not only shapes outstanding he is also a great surfer.

I spend some time a few years ago in his shaping bay.

He changed my outlook on shaping.

The guy is awsome!

If you ride longboards or mini-mals WaynO should be your Shaper!
