we are a giant melting pot

and because of this wonderful website from around the corner (for some of us where ever the head honcho of swaylocks is from) and spread all across the world, we feel the need to listen to some music whether it be prior to going out, jat your house, or while taking a walk to your local surf shop…

we must all chill, groove, or jam to some sort of music…

since this website seems to have the tendency to REALLY touch peoples finger tips from south africa to australia to hawai’i to the US and everywhere

i figured there is a rather large amount of music that we can share with each other

so, what do you listen to??? who are you jammin out to currently??? and who do you frequently listen to??? (as in, you can never seem to get enough of it… and when you thought you were burnt out, shazam! more from that same artist)

Sounds like you are a bit buzzzed. That’s ok though. I usually listen to a bit of everything from Hank Williams III to Ravi Shankar to Jimi to Whatever floats my surfboard. The bad songs are usually the ones that stick in my head though.

I’m rockin’ bagelradio.com until the feds shut off internet radio. It’s the only thing we can agree on here. The sander likes punk rock, the glasser is in a death metal band, I still like rap music. Bagel radio is sick, all the new indie stuff you can’t even download yet mixed in with some classics like the Pixies and Janes Addiction. I’ll give you a rundown of my playlist though: the Thermals, Earl Greyhound, Bound Stems, Dntel, Silversun Pickups, the Shins, Coldwar Kids, Clap your hands and say yeah, the Fratellis, Beck, older Modest Mouse, Chin up Chin up, lots of rap like: Rich Boy, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Tupac, Biggie, Tribe, Wu-Tang and on and on, then the high-school mixtape stuff: Pixies, Dead Milkmen, Social D, Screeching Weasel, Janes, Beastie Boys, Lush, SP (Gish only), Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, any and all reggae especially dancehall and ska, lots of Sizzla, finally I’m not too embarassed to admit I still listen to the Cure sometimes. I pretty much like it all.

dude, i tell ya what… i have a night job (horrible for dawn patrol sessions) so sometimes i may come off as a little buzzed for two reasons

  1. because i work at a bar, i get paid in beer… good times

-or-

  1. i have been up for a solid 22 hours, with a combination of school for 10 hours and then work until 4am, so i start to sound a little buzzed with everything that i do

other than that, this is a great list of music!

Seriously? It makes more sense now… hahaha

I like everything that’s done well. My other passion is guitar, so I get off on good playing of any kind. Music is so subjective… it doesn’t have to be technically good… people just have to like it. I spend some time in the music industry as well as surf. Some of the stuff I can think of now:

Eagles of Death Metal

X

Dead Kennedys

Marianne Faithful

Suzanne Vega

Devo

B52s

Psychedelic Furs

D’Jango Reindhardt

Leo Kottke

Michael Hedges

Tool
