what color is your wax addative

wax addative, wax solution, sanding agent…what ever you want to call it …? so far i have always used a mix that is clear like water…but i have seen some that has a yellow color to it ,like pee…does anybody use this yellow stuff? can you see any yellow color when its on the board?..

ok well,i got this stuff pretty cheap about $2 for a big tomato sauce jar full…i also noticed it takes almost freezing temps to make it turn solid, which seems weird to me also…ill be shure to test this one before doing the real thing…its something my boat building company refers to as 8% wax solution,who knows…but ill find out.

I’ve seen and used both. Sometimes the styrene isn’t real pure or it can be old or it could have been kept in glass insted of a can. I’ve never had the yellow stuff show in the finished board though. But always when in doubt shoot a test batch.
