what colors to avoid on 1st try at resin tints

hey Basla that sounds like a great idea, i think i will do the very very light black in the clear base. Just a hint of grey ie off clear.

i was wondering what you think about the color ratio's i think that i maybe add to much black as a little seems to go a very long way in my test panels should i add less than 200mls. what kind of amounts do you guys add if you just want highlights not strong patches of color

sorry about all the question, i maybe just over thinking this resin tint, i just worried i will end up with a big black mess

cheers antony

i had yellow base, about a 1/4 orange, and 1/8 or less blue.

it turned green … so watch out for changing colors

& it takes  A TON of resin. course i am just an AMature

oh yeah and dont mix pigments with tints … blah it makes a mess

Actually mixing pigmints and tints makes the deepest colors you just have to do it right.

Ether is spot on.  Id say resin tints onto the foam adds about 3/4 - 1 gallon of resin to the cost.  Which isnt bad for an extra 30 bucks.  Here is my latest creation with a fresh hot coat...

well i just got done with the tint lam........ all i can say is holy s#!t that not what i expected. i am very glad i walked it though a few time 1st.

and it is oh so hard to resist not touching the resin much. doing a tint give me so much more repsect and wonder at how some of you guys pull the stuff you pull off.

so it king of came out how i wanted ( but it was a bit of a stab in the dark)

will post pics tonight after cuplap

antony

heres a quick pic of color will post more tomorrow almost hard enough to do cut lap

thanks for all your help guys. offshore that idea of lots of ice cream lids for squeeges was primo had 15 on hand like you said use once and throw away. thanks basla for the idea of black in the clear worked well

cheers antony

twisted,  Thats looks great!!  Can you share the color(s) ratios you used...  Is that just black and clear of black and white...

I like it!
