Hey Herb, How in the world do you brush on poly finish resin and not have to polish it? Welcome back BTW [smile]
Hey Herb, How in the world do you brush on poly finish resin and not have > to polish it? Welcome back BTW [smile] …most of the urethane I see or have dries with a flat,even,hi-gloss finish ,there is no need to wetsand or polish.Herb
Herb, what type of polyurethane do you mean?? I have finished boards in 2 pac epoxy for a polish free finish but the repairs are a pain in the arse…
Herb, What’s polyurethane? Does it stiff enough? Does it yellowish? Does it easy to sand? Thanks for your attention. Regards, Crabie
Hi there,>>> I m getting tired of using epoxy resin as for the gloss coat. It > yellowish~… You can use a boat varnish/laquer based on polyurethane. There are single part and two part types, I think the two part are stronger and last longer. Get one with a UV filter(I think they all have one, but I’m not sure.) I plan to use this on my board. Or you could just do a spray finish with a acrylic spray. Less work but doesn’t last as long. regards, Håvard
Thanks Harvard, I did surf the web searching for this stuff… It sounds better epoxy if using for gloss coat… They call it 100% solid polyurethane… GOSH~~~~~~~… dont know it can be available in HK~~~~~~~~~~… Regards, Crabie > You can use a boat varnish/laquer based on polyurethane.
