what glue's for rails?

im about to start laying up my rails. ive decided to start with a 6mm ceder strip then cork after that. could anybody tell me which glue would be best for ceder on ceder? also, whats the drying time with that glue? would clamping it up overnight be cool? and then with the cork on cork. ive heard people talking about contact cement but there seems to be a couple of different types. could i use that yellow stuff that joiners use for kitchens or that stuff you can get in an aerosoll can?

I use contact cement, the brand I use is Evostik Impact Adhesive, from a can

Yellow rubbery stuff. Spread it on both side, wait for it to get touch dry the press the two surfaces together. It bonds almost instantly, you may need to you some good quality masking tape to apply pressure in the nose and tail.
