What if ....

following on from the  'concave on the inside of the fin ’ thread …

how about concave on BOTH sides of the fin …

anyone ridden / made this  ??

Okay , so …  think , instead of a double foiled  'convex lens ’  shape  [ a la your average single fin ] ,

a **concave lens  **shape , instead

yes yes , I know the cynics / pissers on posts  will ask 'why ?! ’

or comment

"well , I did that back in  [insert random number year from your imagination] , and it didn’t work THEN , so it won’t work NOW " [?!] …

 but …

…to the creative , open minded people who [hopefully] still post here , I’d like to read your RESULTS of said fin testing .

[  if there are no PRACTICAL replies , I will assume people haven’t done it [yet ]

… Either way … I’ll proceed !  [ to satisfy my own curiosity , obviously ]  …

I’m thinking , to save costs ,  wood or foam core will be the easiest to shape it out of , then obviously multiple glass layers , for the [yes] fcs tabs …

 …  to be continued …

  cheers !

Those singles I made a while back used a foil with a very subtle reflex concave at the last 10-15% of the cord. Best fins I ever used.

I commented on another thread that I prefer a very forward foil with both sides dead flat to the trailing edge .

Making the fin a planing surface controlled by the area chage in the template .

I will have these made in G-10 so they can be faily thin  , fiberglass is too flexy this thin   .

No drag and controlled lift .

Great feeling  :-)

thanks , two Gregs !

did you make yours from wood core , or the   " microballoons ‘’  option , like the white  'wildy’s that  you sent me , years ago ?

  cheers
