The board will be ten feet, about three inches thick, and approximately 23 inches wide. A noserider with a slightly narrower nose than, say, a Takayama. I doubt I’ll put any concave into it,maybe a little. But I am wondering. Is superblue a good density choice? I plan to have Sugarmill glass it at 6+6+6 sanded finish, maybe gloss and polish. I don’t knee paddle, so that shouldn’t be a determining factor. I don’t want a super heavy OR a super light board. Something in the middle. The reails will mostly be 60/40, with 50/50 for the first 18-24 inches only. Single fin, no side bites. Just a cruisy longboard that can perform a little. Nothing fancy. Any suggestions on foam density? Thanks guys.
I like to use super green for longboards.
How much do you weight? If you are less then say 150lbs. blue should work, but it is going to be too light as far as I’m concerned. If more then 150lbs go with Green. I like Classic on my nose riders, but thats me. The Blue is going to dent a lot easier then the Green or the Classic, no matter how much glass you put on it.
I agree with Bagman. I made a noserider out of a 10-1Y with 6+6 deck glass. A year of steady use later there are precious few heel dents (I’m 190 lbs). I think a cruiser board should be heavier anyway. There’s a neat quote from Diffenderfer in the current Surfer’s Journal about board weight. I call my board the flywheel. Just my 2-cents. Good luck Lance
I weigh 190, but have dropped 15 and want to lose another ten. My goal is 180 (6,0 tall–me).
Go with the green. I think you will be happier. One 3/8 center stringer. 6+6 on the deck and 6 on the bottem. That will not be to heavy, but will last good, and have good weight for nose riding.
