What is the perfect nose rider sizing for a 225lb guy ?

I'm looking for any feedback i can get on what might be the perfect dimensions / design for a noserider for my 225lb frame.

My main ride is a Walden Magic 10' 6" which i love but due to the rocker and possible size and length i cannot get right on the nose.

I surf well, i'm fit, i can walk the board and get close to the nose but my current board doesn't cut it for a true nose ride.

This likely sounds stund, but i really dislike boards that are very flat with very little rocker due to their unforgiving nature on take offs and the

fact that they nose dive.  I guess for a board to hold 225lbs at the nose it will require very little rocker. I'm wondering what the optimum length, width,

and dimensions would be for a board where i can actually wrap ten toes over the nose. If anyone has built and ridden nose riders for bigger guys

i'd greatly appreciate any feedback.

All the best,

I'm in fair shape, a big guy(6'2 and 210) and can ride the pi$$ out of a 9'4 or 9'6.  23 1/2" wide, full nose of 18"s , kicked tail and normal nose rocker for a US Blank or Surfblanks that would be used for a board this size.  3----3 1/4" from the shoulder thru the knees.  You can thin the tail and nose out from there.  Subtle concave thru the front 1/3.  Not a fan of teardrops or sweetspot concaves.  Simple and basic.  If you think you need more float stretch it out.  Remember the longer the board the more time it takes to get to the nose.

Checking in at 6’4" and 225-230 lbs.

I would also consider an increased tail rocker, a good noseriding fin like a 10" “Sparky” and the rail shape of the tail. In my own experience I really need that tail to get sucked down in the wave crest to walk to the nose for more than a second or two. Concave in the nose helps…when I started focusing on the tail shape more it made a huge difference for me.  I just started talking to the best nose riders in the lineup and asked to look at their boards. The really old school tail shapes seemed to work the best. Very pinched, almost reversed rail shape, Vee bottom tail, exaggerated and  staged tailrocker and heavy as hell! Check out this article:
