…rice…?
surfsource.net sells the paper you need.
…or a great company called: Interwest, 641 Upper Vintners, Fremont, CA 94539, 510-656-0716
do you get them printed through a computer, or are they screen printed? if they are screen printed, what type of paint to use, acrylic?? liquitex??
I’m either going to print the image of a computer, or just try airbrushing it myself.
It is called silky paper and is not made of rice…Use Nadar 6100 ( if not it is the 9100 series) series paint. It is easy if you are going to use one color. Get a screen burned, get Jiffy clamps, silkiy paper and a squeegee…
I print mine from my computer…comes out great.
yeah, printing from the computer works great as long as ink and resin are compatable. i glass with surfsource’s 2 part epoxy and it makes certain colors bleed. i put the lam down direct on the blank (polyurethane, not polystyrene blanks) with regular polyester resin, then glass as usual.
Sylvia,(or others) What kind of Printer/ Ink do you use. And are you using rice paper taped onto a larger sheet of paper so that it is able to go through the printer well? thanks in Advance Kevin
Howzit Kevin, Epson printers that use Durabrite ink are great for lams since most printers use a dye ink that will fade in a matter of weeks when exposed to the sun, where as the durabrite inks don’t fade. The rice paper I use can be stacked in the printer and runs thru it just like regular paper.I wish I could tell you the products name but I can’t read Japanese. I just got an order for 150 lams this morning plus I picked up another customer yesterday. What started out as a personal project has turned into a business. Aloha, Kokua
So are the pros using printers now too? How many pros uses traditinal sqeegy versus printer???
