what on earth should i do with this

due to a tragic planer error, i was forced to thin this nose to absolutely nothing, its at 5’6 x 2 1/8 x 20 what would you do to this

shapewise

finwise

tailwise

anyone?

and go easy on me, i only have a grip of boards under my belt

From that rocker photo, I would say that the problem comes more from bad foiling than from actual thinness of the nose. Also, the outline curve might be more natural (I think I see straight lines in the middle part).

Nothing tragic, anyway. Why don’t you make a nice Christmas gift to a young grom who will be more than happy with it? Come on, you just got one small week to finish it, make a killer art-job on it and glass it!!!

the glass will make it thicker

thin is good repeat after me

THIN IS GOOD

and the prophet rose

to full height at the campfire

blue light illuminating

his / her face from beneath

like a conselor at

summer camp

and said

and said

and said

‘’ Thin Is Good ‘’

and it was so …

then he looked skyward

"glass it , it wil be a hot

bitchin board.‘’

then he looked the handler straight in the eye

" that aint even thin’’

''I shaped one so thin one time

I could see my hand through it

in the dark ‘’’

it was at that point

he/she became another

sack o’ sheep

down wind

in the smoke.

everybody laughed

and waited to see

the finished board

gettin’ waxed up.

…ambrose…

are you mixing the resin yet?

A uni-directional kite board?

Looks to me like the tail could use some thinning.

Make a replica of an early '70s Wayne Lynch? That’s what struck me when I first looked at the pictures; “Damn, that looks like an old Lynch”. http://www.surfresearch.com.au/00000225.html

The design kinda evolved some later ( see http://www.surfresearch.com.au/00000045.html ) but I do recall seeing Lynches under 6’6" ridden successfully by full-sized humans.

doc…

Has anyboby mentioned, “thin is good!”?

OH hey ambrose!

Needless to say I agree with ambrose

Knock just a liiiiiiittle bit of roundness off the nose, cut a shallow V notch in the tail, slap a set of twinnies on it and…

BAM! you got a bitchin little fish!

I also agree with balsa, check the outline. Could just be the camera angle or lighting, but it looks like there just might be a flat spot or two.

I always feel for the bump. Whenever a flat spot is created, it creates two bumps, however small.

I close my eyes and run my hands along the rail.

If you are “in the moment” and paying attention, you can feel the break in the flow.

Just my 1.874 cents

you could always send it to me.

but seriously you can just glass it and ride it. doesnt ride well for you? give it to a grom, he will have a blast with it!

i like this lynch idea!!!

thanks for all the input guys, ill post updates in a few days when i get some work done

got wax in my hand

pakala* is 4’ nobody out

this board has the potential to

go down in hhhhistory as the

greatest board of all time in the known universe.
