What paint is best for airbrushing a board?

If I want to airbrush a finished blank, what’s the best kind of paint to use?

For airbrushing over the hotcoat?

Any water based acrylic paint will work… if its too thick you can dilute it with water… I use it for airbrushing over the finished blank… I have never tried it over the hotcoat

I’ve only used spray can acrylic paint over the sanded hotcoat… I think that can spray paint works better for painting over the hotcoat because it comes with some kind of resins and chemicals that adhere better to it…

but I’m not really sure about this…
