I rode my friends old Rusty from the 80’s.It was a 6’2" which is 4" shorter that my normal shortboard. One thing that really stood out is how the board needed to be riden with a narrow stance which reminds me of my old shortboards in the 80’s.It was a reminder of my old style of pumping down the line in a kneeknocker stance and then bringing back my rear foot to turn on.It really felt nice.Is this a result of just surfing a shorter board or have the new designs forced us to surf with a wide stance? Maybe it has something to do with the center point pushed foreward? Any idea’s?
