I believe it was 8/32, I’m not 100% sure. Get a thread gauge and some test screws. Ace Hardware probably has the gauges.
You need two different bolts. The front one is longer than the back bolt.
SammyA,
Good reminder. I seem to recall that the thread on those screws were more coarse than 8/32. It’s been a long time since I’ve even seen one of those systems. Use of a thread gauge is the only way to know for sure.

If I get a chance I’ll take the bolts out of my board with a WAVESET and check them.
Outstanding!
thanks for the info guys
Sammy, hopefully you see this before you go digging some up. 10/24 thread, front bolt is.
1-3/8" long from the counter sink, rear bolt is 5/8" long from the counter sink. 1/8" allen, hope this helps.

Thanks for posting the pics and saving me the effort, Dave. I 'd like to mention that when I needed spares for another board (that I’ve since sold) I went with a slightly different bolt that was phillips head rather than hex. Easier to deal with when you just can’t find that damn hex key that you knew is “around here, somewhere”. Also, the longer one in your pics is known as a lag bolt and that type isn’t essential for a WAVESET box. You can easily use one that is threaded all the way to the head.
thanks much for getting those out Dave
Are the tops of the bolts sunk much below the surface of the fin?
If I put the 5/8" resting on top of the plate, the top of the bolt is level with the deck. Or does the fin sit below the deck level?
I don’t have a fin so hard for me to tell.
The bolt heads are countersunk into the fin base. They sit flush, or a tad below.
a beauty. thanks much Sammy
