This weekend I bought a used Point Blanks 8’6" longboard. The thing is a blast to ride. It is set up as a 2 plus one with red-x side fins and a Yater center fin. I am interested in trying it out as a single and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to a fin and size. I am 155 pounds.
I think that 7 inch would be enough.
But if you like a bigger one you can go 8 inch, but I won’t go higher.
You can always try the fin selector on the FCS webpage
That 7.5" Frye fin is pretty sweet.
If it was made as a 2+1, the rails & tail rocker are designed for that much fin area. So as a single, you want a 9", or it will bog down & not drive. I’d probably try a Farberow Flex fin (True Ames).
i very much love the 8" centre fin as a widowmaker on my 8’6" longboard…
