it’s like a twin fin surfmat or something. i dunno. what do you guys think about it? see link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3605576907&category=22710 thanks, j.r.
What the heck that thing looks like a fat, rockerless, gaseously boring grey blob type of thing. Word: glue fins on bottom, NOT deck. Inflate only after downing bottle of Midnight Train. Nontoxic and harmless unless deployed for use in water.
That’s an “ULI” board. I’ve started to see them around here (San Diego). From what I’ve heard they don’t surf well (big surprise?).
it would be fun to have a collection of odd boards like that, providing you had the money and didn’t know what good you should do with it. Inflatable standups, hydrofoil boards, fat penguins(whatever happened to that project?), Y’s sidecut/flex longboard, etc. regards, Håvard
I saw a short piece in Surfer about these things, apparently they’re designed to get around blackball restrictions. The photo showed a guy pretty slotted in on one, maybe they have some potential?
Understood within the context of its limitations, the ULI looks to be a safe, durable and reasonably priced surfboard that has a full planshape, round 50/50 rails, low rocker, light weight, double normal flotation, which can also be rolled up and stashed in a sports bag for easy travel. Among other places, it`s reportedly been ridden successfully at Sunset Beach, Hawaii. Something to consider as a fun, new idea for sunny summer days at the beach. www.uliboards.com/
