What to do with that not perfect board!

This is my first posting on Swaylocks. I have been making boards for a little over a year here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I am up to #14, I have shaped them all and glassed all but the first which I had Rascoe at Gale Force Glassing do for me. Swaylocks has been a great help. Of my 14 boards I have kept some, gave some as gifts, donated one to a charity, put some in shops on consignment, and made one for a friend to test for me. #7 was the last Clark blank I bought before “Black Monday” and I decided to make a longboard for myself.(9’6"-24"-3.5") To make a long story short, it was my first longboard and it did not turn out quite as I had hoped.(burn through-weave showing-pin line ran-blank twisted,etc-etc) So as I was looking at it and remembered that the owner of a local restaurant had asked for a longboard to put in his place. I told him at the time that blanks were impossible to get especially the longer ones. Now that I can get blanks I decided to sell him this one and give making a longboard for myself another try and cover my expenses with what he paid me for my “not perfect board”. This also gives me good exposure and may give me some business down the line. I forgot to say that at this time I am making boards for a hobby and know I have a long time to go before I can quit my day job. I do vinyl lettering on the side and was able to do the work on the board myself. So if you have a board hanging around that did not turn out as you had planned you may be able to get some money out of by selling it as a sign, your local sign maker may be able to help you out with the lettering or even may buy the board from you for him to use. For what it is worth my #7 is in Mulligans at MP 13 in Nags Head, NC.
