I have aquired a thrashed 6’6 thruster for free from a friend and am going to remove the glass and reshape it, just for fun.
As soon as im healed, thats right i broke my arm. i was skating the local half pipe doing some really nice and fluid surf style 5 0 's and got caught up on the coping and i fell off onto my arm breaking my arm. no surfing or skating for me 4 a while.
Any in a way to keep my mind on the surf etc im starting to think what i can do.
What you rekon ??? it not wide enogh for another fish and it has some deep channels which might get the boot but what should i do?? im drawing a blank??
sorry to hear about your arm chris [now I remember why I don’t skate much any more]
re: the trashed ‘truster’ … read the ‘creativity’ thread , for starters , maybe .
then
like the song said
"do what YOU want to do ,
be what YOU want to be yeah air air "
cheers mate !
ben
just a thought …how will you strip and shape it with one arm , or are you planning on doing it with your feet , perhaps? […in which case , be CAREFUL with that electric planer eh ?]
cumon chip i know that. in the end no body is going to make me do something i dont wanna do.
i just wanted to get some inspiration and to hear some views of the situation.
And i’ve read that thread already.
its 6’6 x 19 1/8 snd it doesnt have any thinkneess dims on it.
im not in a cast because of the nature of the fracture. its the radial head and it right next to the elbow. it needs to be able to move every so often so im in a sling.
chop it down to 10" by 22", laminate some plywood, add wheels, and stay away from the half pipe
sorry to hear about your arm. I’ve got a tweaked wrist right now that prevents me from doing anything with my right hand, but at least I can take the splint off and get in the water. my physical therapist has me doing breathing exercises. says the extra oxygen will help it heal faster. who knew?
Looking at those channels, I’d be waiting for my arm to get better!!!
Maybe start by templating the outline, grab a jigsaw and cut it out, there go the rails, then get a mate to help you pull the glass off the foam. Sink 2 or 3 beers and look at it, can you do it?
No mates I hear? No problem, wait for your arm to get better…
