Has surfboard design changed much in the last thirty years? Take a seventies (or eighties) board, put some new rails and more fins on it and what’s changed? To my mind not a lot. So what causes history to repeat itself if that is the case? I believe is lack of communication is responsible and I feel the answer is the internet. One giant database of what works. Or doesn’t. Sounds nice doesn’t it. And to some extent I think it’s already here (Sway’s). Not too mention the Clark foam catalogue. And quite frankly I make enough mistakes without repeating someone else’s. So here’s my contribution, an APS file that worked well for me. I weigh 115kgs and surf beach breaks predominantly if it’s of any interest to anybody. For my next board I went for a flatter tail rocker well, and that wasn’t so good. Hope that helps some of you.
