PowerKraft retailed by Montgomery Ward model 8937A looks similar to the naked eye as a Skill 100.
If the conditions is better than average what is the average market on these and do they produce a decent cut even tho it has the knob depth ajustment? any Shapers use them still?
i got a very nice unit for $40 a few years ago. The adjustment knob is terrible so without a modification it’s not good for shaping on the fly.( still looking to have mine modded) I still use it to mill thickness on longboards or heavy duty jobs. I used it to peel a very strong epoxy lamination that could not be peeled off using methods that work easily on pe resin. No real resale value.
I’m in the market for a Skill replacement, Channin picked the lock on my door last weekend, raped and pillaged my tools for the weekend, but walked off and left the lights on and the door wide open, Steve Clark thought Channin was still on the property, but looked and saw he had driven away, Steven was thoughtful enough to shut down the electric and lock up my room.
I came in Monday and he told me what was going on, I opened up and the first thing I see is an empty spot where my Skil sat, when Channin showed up later that day I said I needed my planer back as I was working on balsa, he said he hadn’t taken my planer and had locked up after abusing my tools. Steve reminded him he had not locked up and left for the day. He said he’ll pay for another Skil
