Where are they now?

Greg Liddle’s Template Collection stacked up outside his shop during the closing sale 1989 (Agoura, California)

Amazing! Well I can’t say where Liddle’s templates are, but they may have wound up like Dave Sweets’ molds, buried under some building like the “Getty”.

kp has most of them. i have a few as does mobley of mobley surfboards. they are scattered amongst the tribe. greg still has some of the “crtitical/important” ones.

And I thought I had an impressive collection… that’s an impressive row stacked to the gills!

also ,

“where are they now ?”

i believe that’s me bent over grabbing a stub template.remember, when he made a board, he made a template for that board.lotsa boards and history there…

Ambrose has plenty

Incredible, there are more templates than some shapers have done boards, I threw out short templates after the early 70’s short board revolution, boards then went ridiculously narrow, flat, retarded, overly gunned out, never thought they would get below 6 feet again.

Isn’t it funny how we think one thing and the opposite happens. I’m sure there were shapers that never thought they’d see longboarding come back either… funny.
