I need to know where to find Resin, I’ve ordered everything for the glassing of my board, but now I need resin. I should be ok with a gallon of resin for a 6’0 x 19.5"x 2 3/8 shortboard, right?

im looking for epoxy resin too. i live in mexico, but travel to houston/san antonio from time to time. can anybody give me an address where i can find the resin?
Brent. I’m from New Hampshire. Just into the glassing stage of my first board. I had to go down to Groton,CT. to find surfboard resin. The shipping cost are expensive because resin is rated hazardous. LBI,INC Ph# 860 446 8058 they are helpful and also sell epoxy and the metering system needed.
You can ship a gallon without the Hazmat cost… I don’t think it’s too costly. If you have access to a supplier in driving distance go for it, but if shipping is your only option… it beats having someone else make your board.
Brent; If you live in Jersey; check with Mahogany Co. in Mays Landing. 5450 Atlantic Ave.—609-6258101. You can get 5gal. pails of silmar polyester lam. resin and containers of wax solution to make your hot coat or gloss coat. Specify surfboard resin so it’s uv stable. Pick it up yourself if you can, because hazmat shipping charges are steep. Don’t forget catalyst. Good Luck Cleanshape

Herb; Sorry no contacts for epoxy. I get my blanks from Clark in Melbourne Fla. 321-2592664. They are very accommodating. They will ship to your door or you can have their shipper call you when they arrive at the local terminal. Shipping costs are reasonable if you buy several at at time and try to stay under 100 lbs. I’ve had two boxes (Clark charges approx. $20 for these boxes)and nine blanks shipped to my door for approximately $65. Call them and they will arrange to have a catalog and price list mailed to you.
