Where can we buy Segway Blanks in So Cal

I talked to the guys at Mitch’s in LJ and they know nothing about Graphite Master distributing the Segway blanks. Maybe it was the guy at the counter? It’s time to shape a dixie cup, and where to buy foam…What I wanted was Santa to bring me is the 8’6" GL Millennium pro with a medium density PVC stringer…the one that looks like spruce? But what I got was a pair of socks.

I got the cross reference chart that Hank passed out in Cerritos, it showed the blanks offered in the Clark rocker profiles. I know Ken wants to have some sort of protacol in a distribution network…but now it’s all about where we can get them…and can we special order other sized through him? Pretty much all out of Clark blanks by now.

Jay…

Hank and I were at Mitch’s yesterday. I don’t know if they are going to handle the blanks or not…one of those sales things. If you are interested, you can either contact Hank or myself, and we will work out any necessary arrangements.

I am still in the process of developing the rocker template catalog. If anyone has any suggestions as to which profiles are best, I would appreciate the input. I was in hopes of keeping the number of templates to a manageable number, so I wouldn’t have to make so many different blanks. I would like to keep them as generic as possible, at least for now.

I spent a lot of time with Rich Harbor the other day, and am going to get one or two templates from him for a long board. I hope to visit with Rusty again, and possibly get a Gun and big guy short board and maybe funboard template. Still working on that one. I have a number of great templates from Greg Loehr, and will introduce them as well as a machineable version…something a with a little more foam to allow for additional flexibility for the designer.

Please send a PM for any suggestions you may have…

Thanks!!

Ken

Spent the last 30yrs sort of making a living shaping. the last 15 under my own label. I have retail stores that sell/sold my stuff and a reputation for QUALITY, and NO BLANKS. I have been making a very specialized board series for bigger guys that was really starting to catch on. I don’t see anyone out there trying to fill this gap in the ‘‘blank hole’’. Interested? contact me. ACE

Thanks Ken, I understand the task at hand and got to give you props for taking on the challenge in a “strange industry” to say the least. It looks like you have some good rocker profiles with the Millennium Series. the 8’6" looks like the Clark 8’7"R with a little more rocker, and the 9’0" looks like it could pass for a smaller version of the 9’2"R.

Ace, I’m very aware of your shapes for the bigger guys. I’ve been surfing around the Sunset Cliff area for sometime. Dano, who used to be the run the SouthCoast in O.B. shop is my older cousin. (actually it was some of your bigger guy shapes that have inspired me) I think it’s great you found this forum, and I look forward to you sharing some of your shaping insights with us.

Great to see you here!

ACE,

Ditto what Resinhead said. I’ve owned and rode several of your boards. The 7-2 swallow tailed zing thing you shaped me ten years ago was one of the funnest boards I owned. They work good for average sized guys, too. Mike

Talked with “ACE” for quite a while… Great Guy!!! Working on some possibilities…
