Looking to find a paddle board blank in florida anyone know where to find one, also as a poly blank. Also where to get fiberglass that is wide enough to accomadate such a wide board-josh
walker foam makes one
I used 30 inch wide and overlaped such that it was double on deck and single on the rails. Top and bottom. And deck patch.
A PU blank is going to be heavy. Carve Nalu uses 1 pound EPS.
IF you go EPS, Davo Dietrich in Cocoa could probably set you up with just about anything imaginable.
I’m in Tampa and have 4 EPS blanks around 11 ft. But that is a long way to go for a blank. Bring some ply and you can copy my templates. Or I’ll send you my APS pdf file and you can tinker. I’ll need some pictures of your girlfriend first. Or a case of imported beer. (kidding about the girlfriend, and probably the beer, this is Sways after all).
Check out the great thread by “theboys” on building your own EPS blank.
Regards,
Here are a few links for the fiberglass.
They have 34" and 50" 4 and 6 oz E-glass, maybe S too, but I didn’t look that deep.

Josh, If you decide to go with EPS and since your in Jax… Scott Shine has made a few SUP blanks for me with great results.
Cheers, Mike
I agree with the EPS approach…do not bother w/using a PU blank. It will be heavy, won’t be as strong and the bouyancy will be far less than what EPS/Epoxy will deliver. Don’t get me wrong, the lion’s share of work I do is polyester, but epoxies have become much more user friendly than they were 20 years ago and epoxy is a real solid compared to polyester…it also will not break down to UV exposure (if you use a good quality epoxy that is) like a polyester.
You can get 8 oz. fiberglass in 60" width, so width should not be an issue. Try either Foam EZ or Fiberglass Supply. Good luck.
hear that josh? let me know what you need, the day has come to pop that epoxy cherry
