Hey rakeflip
Rmax Wetherill Park is where I get mine from. Exellent quallity and not bad on the price.
You ring them up and tell them what you want and the they will ring when its ready. They can ship but it does cost.
They supply 3 main densities for surfboard construction.
X- 30 (think) which is about 1.5 lbs for SUP and very light performance shortboards
X- 34 = 2 lbs which is what I order.
X- 38 = 2.5 for heavier logs etc
Great stuff. I ordered a block 3600x750x250 X- 34 for a SUP and it cost me about $250.
Will go the X- 30 next time.
Managed to get a 9'0" longboard out of the leftovers.
Do you have a hotwire set-up? (highly recommended).
You can get timber for stringers at Wonson Bros Timbers at Tarrawanna.
The have western red cedar and furniture grade pine (no knots)
Buy it 150 x 75 cedar is about $17 per meter and the pine is about half the price.
They will rip it into 3 pieces and plane them down to as thin as 4 mm
You end up with 3 stringers.
If you are a newby to shaping altogether, it is quite a learning curve.
You need rocker templates, clamps to glue the stringer in, hot wire setup, shaping skills,, spackle, etc.
If you are new, I would highly recommend Surfblanks.
I still use them and there blanks are the best in Australia in my opinion.
Great foam, resonably priced and will ship 2 or more for free.
If you go EPS, make sure you use epoxy.
You can now get resin research in Australia.
If you need any more info, just let me know.
Cheers
