where to get c5 fins?

Hey guys,

I’ve been looking for a pair of c5 fins (the little ones) for a long time now and I can’t find any. None of the surfshops in my area carry them. I have a couple of friends that are about to become pro skimboarders and we are interested in finding out how glassing a shallow pair of fins to a skimboard would affect its performance. If you know where I could find a pair of them please let me know. Thanks.

Hey,

I might have a pair somewhere in my apartment. I used to have a Rusty C5 a while back and had extra fins. If I find em, you can have em. I’ll look tonight if you want em.

Let me now.

Hey adam,

That would be awesome if you had an extra pair. I can get up with you and pay for shipping and the fins (unless you just happen to live in eastern NC). Let me know if you find any. Otherwise, I’ll just buy a set from the link jedisurfer got (thanks for it, I could never find any online).

chipfish- I’ve already fiberglassed a pair of fins on an older skimboard when i took a pair of microlites and basically sawed off 3 inches of the bottom of the fin. The thing seemed to be responsive, but there were some weird hangups in the turns and I want to see if having a real template (other than something i hacked up with a saw) will work better.

Hey,

I found the C5 fins buried under some ding repair kits, broken fins and old wax:)

Give me your address and I’ll send em out to you Monday.

I live in NYC, so I can’t imagine it being expensive to send.

You’re in North Carolina?

Adam

fins on a skimboard are really fun, they give you lots more control. I usally just make my own keel type things that are about 1/2" at the deepest and about a 1.5’ long and they don’t hang up often, but usally the shallower the funner. Another thing ive done is got a peice fiberglass cloth about two feet long and a few inches wide and kidna make a ridge in it going along the middle of the board and glassing that on, and it works too. Make that .25" deep.

I don’t really know what your talking about in terms of c5’s, but thats just my input on the topic.
