Where to shape

Been a while since I’ve been on here but I’ve really been getting the itch to shape again. So to my question. Where would you guys recommend shaping and glassing if you don’t have a shop area? With my new house I no longer have a garage. Shaping outside isn’t really an issue but glassing with UV cure resin I could see being a bit of a problem. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

First off, if you had your location showing someone near you might be inclined to offer you time in their shaping and or glassing room. Secondly, is there a particular reason why you must use UV cure resin? Ambrose has been known to use epoxy in the shade with some fine results. Improvise, overcome, and adapt.

Thanks for the input on the location. I just posted it. Due to the location and the temp not being as stable as CA or HI I stick to UV cuz I’ve heard MEKP doesn’t work to well below 65 degrees. Same thing with Epoxy and temperature too.

rent a warehouse

get it on

rent it out to others when you ainr going for it

or move out of that no place to work place into the warehouse and

call it a loft and start an artist community

this is the revolution aint it?

bremmerton is where the refit wwII us navy ships like the

The U.S.S.New Orleans if I am not mistaken

with the privatizing of many naval facilities

perhaps an old shipbuilding space would be appropriate

ceilings of imense proportions would allow you space

to build a multi floored space out of scrap wood

salvaged from the neighborhood.

where to shape?

where ever you are

in case of cold add heat or more catalyst if you are using polyester…

at pedro in the cold and rain in 68

I was using 2 oz to the quart It

may have been excessive but

it was like 35 degrees or so outside

or is seemed like it,and I dint know any better.

…ambrose…

and there were no neighbors

like in a wharehouse…

I say go one of two routes. 1) Build a tree house for your kids, or the neighborhood kids… but make sure its at least 10 x 14. then run an extension cord up to the “Tree Fort” . Teach the kids to glass and sand and you could be like Guliver, or maybe Swiss Family Robinson.

2) Dig a underground labryinth of tunnels complete with head high walk ways, and huge garage size work rooms. Underground you can really micro manage you ambient temp, and if you have any older Nam dudes you can freek them out by making them go in the tunnels first… Danang, Hop Sing Valley 1968, Invasion of the Tunnel rats…Give them a dim flashlight and a fake hand gernade

Or 3) Just go out in the backyard under a tree and start hacking at the foam. It’s not that big of a deal if your just doing 1 or 2 boards.
